To clean the leather without damaging it from moisture, use a slightly damp cloth to gently wipe off any unsightly dirt. Make sure that you use a soft, non-abrasive cloth to wipe anything off of your leather bag, so that you do not damage the surface of the material by accident. Do not use harsh chemicals, such as bleach, to wash your leather bag, as this could also cause permanent damage to the coloring and shine of the leather. Additionally, when packing a leather bag, such as a bag or wallet, it is important to pay attention to what is being packed and if the bag is becoming overfilled or stretched. Sharp objects, such as pens, toothpicks and rulers, can puncture the leather, creating holes and rips in bags.
